Why are We here?

In order to achieve United Nations carbon emissions set goals, the British government instructed all councils to undertake a strategic property review. If the councils chose not to close or sell off inefficient outdated properties, then - these councils would go bankrupt ( many have) regardless of which political party the people in those areas voted for.  Buildings like the Green Park Community Centre are what’s known as a small to medium enterprises, these now get an energy efficiency rating similar to what you would get when you buy a fridge. All inefficient buildings incapable of transitioning easily to grade C (more info available from the hub chairman) would have to be either, transferred to the community to transition the buildings to grade C themselves, or sold to a private investor to turn into a private business. If neither of these were found then these buildings would be demolished. The Green Park Community Centre was one of the many properties in the area that had a very poor energy rating, therefore the council could not afford to keep it or transform into a better rated facility. We the community have taken over this property, we are determined to transition it towards the minimum grade "C" but hoping to go further and achieve grade A. The grades run from  "A"  being most efficient to "H" being worst, the Greenpark Community Centre is a "G"
